I know many of you have been asking whether our easy-to-use Big E-Z Bookkeeping Excel spreadsheet system will work on the Mac and the iPad2.
The great news is that it now works beautifully with the Mac. Just last week, a customer who had purchased the new 2012 Big E-Z Bookkeeping System, wrote and said “I’ve been using the 2012 Big E-Z for a short while now, but I have used the single version [beginning] a few years ago. I have found that by copying the working folder to Drop Box (an internet storage site) I can access the files with my Excel for Mac, and it works great. Just thought you may want to know.” – Terry S.
I called her back and asked her which version of Excel she was using for the Mac and which Mac computer as well. This is what she replied:
I’m using Office 2011 for Mac. When I run the Excel file, I’m asked to enable the macros and update the links. I do both. After that I get an error message (I’m not sure what it says off the top of my head), but when I close the message, everything works fine. I’ve been doing this since I purchased the new Big EZ program a week or so ago, and when I open the files from my PC – all is fine.[Then I] go back to the Mac – all is fine. No glitches or hiccups. But you do have to store the files on an on-line site. I have not yet been able to access them through my home network. Jobs and Gates are still bumping heads on that one.. Hope this helps.

With respect to Excel spreadsheets in the ipad2: you can view them with no problem. Some more simple spreadsheets can be edited using DropBox and Numbers or Documents to Go, but for Big E-Z files, we’re still waiting for the ipad2 version of Microsoft Excel, so that files can be seamlessly imported, edited, saved, and shared.
